Keynote Address

"SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES: Using Content, Creativity and Courage in the Face of Disruptive Change"

Dr. Myk Garn will explore current and emerging pedagogical models to develop an understanding of why building a peer-driven, empirically-referenced,  value-added, ROI-busting, data-driven, evidence-based operational and strategic response to a significantly different,  transformational,  game-changing, paradigm-shifting, discontinuous and disruptive mode of change is so challenging to do.

SOLUTIONS Forum Moderated by Dr. Ric Baser, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Tulsa Community College.  This general session forum will bring together representatives from four different  stakeholders:  faculty, students, publishers, and college administrators.

Text2Trade Project:  As part of a grant from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Tulsa Community College has developed a website designed specifically for students to buy, sell and trade their used textbooks on-line.  The goal is to reduce the overall cost of education by providing increased opportunities for students to purchase textbooks at the lowest cost possible.

"Preparing for the Digital Native": This presentation covers cross-platform tools for development of meaningful content, ease of adoption for faculty, rate of change of data produced, and a glimpse into the future to monitor and shape teaching and learning in our digital world.

Moderated Forums: Hear about issues and innovations in alternative course materials. Moderated forums focus on the unfolding evolution of alternative course materials.

Farewell Charge: End the day energized with a call to action by Dr. Glen D. Johnson, Chancellor of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education.
